Your team is in the room and you are conducting a brainstorming exercise.
Here are the 4 conditions that you must now enforce.
- No criticism. Do not break the creative dynamic of the group by killing the ideas of other participants. All ideas are good to take.
- No constraint. No idea is a priori bad or impossible to implement. Remember that if you self-censor now, your idea will not be captured and therefore will not have a chance to be properly assessed later.
- Aim for quantity rather than quality. The team will sort it out at a later stage.
and the one that is often forgotten:
- Build from the ideas of others. This requires a little practicing from the group and the facilitator. Re-read the ideas already exposed, look for others, similar, different, opposite, further detail when formulations are too vague.
